The real draw for many is the building itself and the cafe terrace, which faces south across the water toward Centraal Station with one of the best views in Amsterdam.
The cafe terrace is free to visit and worth a stop even if you skip the exhibitions. Take the free Buiksloterweg ferry from Centraal (5 minutes). The basement exhibition space has immersive installations that change regularly. Check the screening schedule for restored classics.
